Corporate Team
West Shore Leadership

Lee is the President of West Shore, a dynamic, fast-growing company that blends an entrepreneurial approach to real estate with institutional investment discipline. He directs the management and operations of the Boston-based company’s $4 billion portfolio of diverse multifamily real estate assets nationwide. Lee oversees all aspects of the firm including overall direction and growth, investment strategy, investor relations, property management, development, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and asset management.
Prior to forming West Shore, Lee was responsible for the underwriting, analysis, and execution of all acquisitions, dispositions, and financing at Northland Investment Corporation for a multifamily portfolio of 23,000 units. Over the course of six years, Lee closed on the acquisition of nearly 7,500 units, the disposition of nearly 2,500 units, and the refinancing of over 40 properties contributing to over $2 billion in capital events. Additionally, Lee played an active role in the asset management of the portfolio.
Lee holds an AB from Harvard College. He is on the Board of Directors at the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and is a member and active participant in ULI, REFA, and Combined Jewish Philanthropies.

Steve is the Chairman of West Shore and together with Lee has overseen the expansion of West Shore into a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, and vertically integrated multifamily real estate company. Steve’s leadership drives the company’s disciplined investment strategy and commitment to excellence.
Prior to West Shore, Steve was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Northland Investment Corporation, which grew under his leadership into a vertically integrated $3.5 billion diversified real estate company with a 23,000 unit market rate multifamily portfolio. As Northland’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Steve directed all aspects of Northland’s multifamily, development, and commercial portfolios, including capital formation, investments, and operations, as well as Northland’s strategic direction.
Steve’s experience also includes Co-Managing Partner at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo P.C., which grew into a 500 lawyer firm with seven offices under his leadership. During his 21 years at Mintz, Steve was a business lawyer and focused on general corporate, real estate, and business representation, business planning, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and corporate and real estate finance.
Steve holds an AB from Harvard College and a JD from Boston University School of Law.
Steve is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of Redwood Investments LLC, an investment management firm in Newton, MA, and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Robert I. Lappin Foundation in Salem, MA. Steve recently created “The Changing Lives Fund” at the Northeast Arc and established the “Arc Tank”, which is intended to fund innovative ideas for positive disruption to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and autism and their families.
Steve has served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in Washington, DC, as a Trustee of the Ruderman Family Foundation in Boston, MA, and Tel Aviv, as a Trustee of the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT, as a Director of the Harvard Alumni Association, and as a Member of the Harvard Corporation Advisory Committee on Shareholder Responsibility. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and as a Member of the Board of Directors of The Downtown Crossing Partnership in Boston, MA.

David J. (DJ) joined West Shore as Controller in 2017 and oversees all finance and accounting activities at both the corporate and property level. He leads the accounting team and is responsible for the accounting of the management company and investment fund entities, property insurance, taxes, budgets, and implementation of property management and accounting technology.
Prior to West Shore, DJ worked at Eaton Vance where he was responsible for the accounting and reporting for a multifamily portfolio of more than 8,000 units. During his time at Eaton Vance he oversaw the accounting for three dispositions and sixteen acquisitions with an aggregate value of greater than $750 million.
DJ began his career in public accounting and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since May 2009. DJ holds a BBA and MSA from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst.

Jeremy is a property and asset management executive with over 17 years of experience in the multifamily industry. He is responsible for the oversight of property management operations, financial performance, leasing, and maintenance for West Shore’s national multifamily portfolio. He manages the physical, financial, and administrative operations of the properties, including revenue management, budgetary analysis, and managing and developing the regional and property staff to ensure operational excellence. In his role, he provides guidance in all management disciplines to the regional, property, and maintenance teams involved in the operation of West Shore’s diverse portfolio of properties. Jeremy works in collaboration with the West Shore team on new acquisitions and manages the performance of West Shore’s portfolio to maintain exceptional operations standards, advance objectives, provide returns to investors, and ensure budgeted financial goals are met and exceeded.
Prior to West Shore, he led portfolios of up to 30,000 units and was responsible for over 600 team members spanning across markets in the southeast, southwest, and the Midwest. He has overseen assets in all phases of the multifamily real estate cycle, from stabilized to lease-up to full renovation to pre-development consulting.
Jeremy holds a BS in Business Administration and is currently pursuing his MBA from California Coast University. He holds CAM and CAPS designations and is also active in the apartment associations at both the local and national level, serving as the President of the Southeast Florida Apartment Association (SEFAA).

Michael oversees West Shore property accounting, manages the property accounting team, and is responsible for the full accounting cycle of the West Shore portfolio. He develops, maintains, and improves accounting policies and procedures and supports the property and regional staff by providing financial analyses and reporting.
Prior to West Shore, Mike worked for Barkan Management as Accounting Manager where he was responsible for the accounting and reporting for over 20,000 units across 140 properties. In this role, Mike supervised junior and senior level accountants, developed best practices for the accounting team, and was the main point of contact for the external audit of company owned properties. Mike holds a BSBA from Nichols College and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, graduating Magna Cum Laude from both with a focus in accounting.

Michael oversees the accounting of the management company and investment fund entities. He is responsible for management of the investor platform, statements, and distributions, and assists with financial analysis and review for property financials and investor reporting.
Prior to West Shore, Mike worked for WS Development. At WS he was responsible for the accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for the asset management company comprised of 98 properties and totaling 23 million square feet. Mike’s experience also includes managing the internal audit team at Consigli and performing tax consulting and compliance at PwC for high-net-worth individuals in the private equity and venture capital spaces.
Mike holds a BS and MSA from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He co-founded an annual charity golf tournament which raised over $50,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute under his leadership.

Desiree Starr is a Learning and Development Professional and Multifamily Educator and Speaker. Desiree formerly served as the Director of Talent Development for a national property management company, and has developed educational programs, and seminars that are timely, relevant, and informative. Desiree has over 25 years of multifamily experience and has a passion and innate gift for training and developing others. Desiree has presented across the country at national multifamily events, and her impact has been felt on so many learners who enjoy her enthusiasm & humor. She is an NAAEI Facilitator and an active member of NAAEI’s Education Advisory Board and remains heavily involved with the evolution of NAA designations and its curriculum.

Eric is responsible for the full accounting cycle of several West Shore properties and maintains and analyzes financial information for the properties. In his role, he assists with developing accounting policies and procedures and prepares monthly, quarterly, and other financial reports.
Prior to West Shore, Eric worked for Barkan Management as a Senior Property Accountant – Team Leader, where he was responsible for a team of accountants reporting on a portfolio of over 50 properties. Eric attends the University of Massachusetts Boston with a focus in Accounting.

Chris is responsible for the full accounting cycle of several West Shore properties and maintains and analyzes financial information for the properties. In his role, he supports the accounting team and prepares monthly, quarterly, and other financial reports.
Prior to West Shore, Chris worked for CBRE as a Real Estate Accountant where he was responsible for the accounting and reporting on a portfolio of commercial properties in New England. Chris previously worked in public accounting as a Tax Associate, where he assisted in tax planning and preparing tax returns and other deliverables for middle market corporations. Chris attended the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Accounting and Finance and was an active member of the Rines Angel Fund.

Harrison works on West Shore’s accounting team and assists with the accounts payable and accounts receivable process. Prior to West Shore, Harrison worked for Cambridge Health Alliance where he was responsible for the financial reporting of the company’s payroll-active funds. Previously, Harrison worked at Ernst & Young as an external auditor in the company’s Boston office and was responsible for executing the audits of Biotechnology, Manufacturing, Technology, and Sustainable Energy clients. Harrison holds a BS in Accounting from Liberty University.

Vivian is responsible for the full accounting cycle of West Shore’s corporate accounting team. Vivian assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management and reconciliation, and monthly financial statements.
Prior to West Shore, Vivian worked as an external auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the company’s Boston office. During her time at PwC, Vivian served in the Private Assurance practice performing audits for clients spanning from biotechnology, manufacturing, education, and retail. Vivian holds a BSIB in Accounting from Bryant University.

Kevin works in collaboration with the West Shore leadership team on property acquisition research, underwriting, financial planning, and analysis. Kevin manages transaction due diligence, analyzes and evaluates assets and transactions, and prepares investor reporting.
Prior to West Shore, Kevin was with The MFA Companies as a valuation analyst specializing in financial planning and analysis, private company valuations, and various equity structuring, debt refinancing, and tax mitigation projects. Kevin holds a BBA in accounting from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and is a CFA charter holder.

Peter works on strategic initiatives across West Shore’s national multifamily portfolio including capital, maintenance, and renovation projects, new acquisition due diligence, and market analysis. In his role, he works in collaboration with the property management team on revenue management and implements property-specific strategies to achieve optimal portfolio performance and revenue goals. Peter graduated from Providence College with a BS in Finance and a core focus in History.

Kristina is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and employee relations for the corporate office and at all multifamily portfolio assets. In her role, she manages compensation administration, the 401(k) program, benefits, and workers compensation with a focus on promoting team excellence and business growth.
Prior to West Shore, Kristina worked for Express, Inc. and graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Merchandising.

Paige works in collaboration with the human resources team at West Shore to support benefit administration, payroll, and the employee onboarding process. She assists the corporate and property teams with employee training, recognition, and retention efforts.
Prior to West Shore, Paige worked for Boston Medical Center and Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP. Paige graduated from Boston College with a BA in Human Development.

Tyler monitors and maintains computer systems, resolves technical issues, and provides information technology support to optimize the company’s operational efficiency. In his role, he provides both on-site and remote technical support to all corporate and property staff and sites and manages the procurement and configuration of IT-related equipment.
Prior to West Shore, Tyler worked as the System Administrator for Medwell Health & Wellness. His primary responsibilities included configuration of all back-end systems and accounts as well as maintaining system structure and security updates. He was involved in the set up and opening of several new offices across Massachusetts and Florida during his time at Medwell. Tyler has over 8 years of technical support and IT experience and graduated with a BS from the New England Institute of Art.

Kaity supports the West Shore corporate team with administrative tasks and marketing projects. She completes property reporting and assists the property teams with leasing initiatives. Kaity graduated from the Honors Program at Suffolk University with a BSBA in Marketing and a Minor in Information Systems.

Kathryn supports the Human Resources and Accounting teams with payroll, benefits, and technology implementation. In her role, she assists with the employee onboarding and training process and personnel records management. Kathryn graduated from Emerson College with a BA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing.

Ari supports the West Shore corporate team with administrative tasks and marketing projects. She assists with website updates, social media, and reputation management for the property teams. Following her Internship at West Shore, Ari graduated Summa Cum Laude from Syracuse University with a BS in Information Management and Technology with a concentration in Web Design Management and a Minor in Public Communications Studies.
